Education & Work

End of another chapter

As many of you will know, it had been my last few months at University, meaning I was swamped with assignments, revision and completing my dissertation (speaking of my disso, thanks to all of you who completed that diet and newspapers questionnaire!!!)

But… now here I am, waiting for confirmation of my results and applying for jobs and internships…It’s crazy how university literally just flew by. It was a difficult 3 years but no doubt so inspiring. I learnt so much, not just about the human body or journalism but about myself too.

Yeah, I know… that sounds so cliche! BUT it’s true… I was tested to all sorts of lengths throughout university, not only academically but personally as well. I experienced so much, which contributed to the person I am now… There had been many many moments where I wanted to give up… but at the end of the day I would remind myself that I am the only one in charge of my success, if I gave up no one else would be affected, it would be me and only me regretting that I didn’t try my hardest.

For those of you who will be going into University in a few months, are at university or are in college or even high school… my one advice is that don’t doubt yourself. At the time you maybe faced with things that seem so impossible and you can’t imagine how you’ll get passed it, but I can guarantee.. that with some determination and a positive mindset (as hard as that can be) you’ll get through it. Eventually you will look back at that moment and be thankful that you didn’t give up!

We are all capable of doing great things, (YEAH!) but we do need to work for it… things wont fall into our laps, we need to put the effort in to get something great out of it. In end it will all be worth it, it’s just about being patient and knowing that you tried your hardest!

  1. Wonderful advice!

I believe to be successful isn’t something that is set in stone, but something that varies for all of us. What matters is being content with what we do, and having the discipline, patience and ability to strive when times are tough.
